The earliest
account that I have been Able to find so far to date begins with William Hallett Sr. of Whitchurch, Canonicorum, Dorsetshire, England
who was born Circa 1521 and died some time after 1567 in his town of birth. He spent his life as a Husbandman. He was a member
of The Church of St. Candida (or St. Wite) and
St. Cross and is one of only two churches in England to contain the remains of its patron
saint.
He wrote his Will, 10 Feb 1566/67 and it was proved in 1572. He may have been related to John Hallett, whose will was proved
in 1565 and to Joan Hallett whose will was proved in 1567, both of Netherburie, Dorset (close to Stoke Abbot and Symondsbury).
His only recorded Children were John Hallett, Richard Hallett, Robert Hallett, Andrew Hallett and William Hallett Jr. (who
is the next descendant in my blood line.)
